Bringin' Home the Bacon (kind of)

Andy went on an Elk hunt in Chama, New Mexico last week. I just wanted to share Andy's picture of his elk that he got. As Andy said he "hunted like no man has ever hunted before" (LOL!) He had a wonderful time and the good news is we will not go hungry this winter with all the elk meat we will have from this hunting adventure ;) Some of you may be turned off by this whole hunting and eating the meat thing... I'm pretty new to this myself as my father was never a hunter. I'm not going to lie, we have had a freezer full of deer meat that I didn't cook but I really intend to actually cook the elk meat that Andy is getting processed. I hear it's really good ;)

Galveston 2008

This August (prior to Ike) we took a trip down to Galveston with our good friends The Fruge's and the Faske's! We had a wonderful time! We spent the first day on the beach, napping and cooking out... it rained the second day so we took a trip to the aquarium at Moody Gardens and then had a nice sea food dinner! Of course the trip would not have been complete without a trip to the Rainforest Cafe! Owen really loved the beach. He ran right out into the water like he had been there before! He also really liked the aquarium... especially the penguins :)

Enjoy the pics :)

"WAIT FOR ME..."

It's the line that left us all hanging last May... "Before I can morally kiss you, I must speak to Rose... Wait for me..." Uuugggghhhh! FINALLY, our waiting is over and we can continue our weekly indulgence in the drama at Seattle Grace!
YAY! I don't know about you but I am totally psyched!!!!! Tune in tonight at 8pm for the two hour premier!!!!! (sorry about the little pic, it's the best I could come up with)

Sarah's Book Club

Okay... so I am not a book worm and I really don't like to read. I am a very slow reader and I just don't have time! Reluctantly, I purchased the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I bought it because I have heard so much about it and I decided I should take time to do something for myself to keep a little sanity. I purchased it thinking it would be another book to collect dust on my bedside table and the spine would never be cracked, WELL... I read this 500 page book in two weeks (that's really fast for me!) and I have now purchased book two of the saga, New Moon. I have officially started a book club with a friend of mine at work and she is now reading Twilight and we will keep this going until we finish the saga. Here's the best part... this book was AMAZING! You have to read this book and I am assuming the rest of them will also be wonderful! I could not put this book down and I recently found out they have made it into a movie coming out this November. So run out and buy your book and read it before 11/21 as this is when the movie comes out.
Here's the website for the movie trailer: http://www.twilightthemovie.com/ I don't want to ruin it for you so you may not want to watch this if you haven't read the book. I've already watched the trailer three times today! I can't wait for the movie! I don't think I've ever read a book and THEN watched the movie... I'm pretty sure I always watched the movie so I could skip the book. ANYWAY... Can't WAIT!

Pigskin Princess - Fantasy Football Couples Only League 2008

Andy and I went to Scott and Liz's house a few weeks ago for our draft for our couples only Fantasy Football league. I know what you are thinking... "What is her team name?". PIGSKIN PRINCESS of course! (thanks to my creative husband) Now... I must say... I am slowly evolving into a major football fan, and I LOVE IT! Don't get me wrong... I have always been a fan of football, not by choice of course, when you grow up in Stephenville, Texas you MUST be a football fan! Ever since Tony joined the Cowboys my interest has significantly increased! Tom Brady also catches my attention from time to time, but my loyalty lies with my 'Boys'!

ANYWAY... I have to admit I was freaking out the whole way to Scott and Liz's house because I really had no idea what I was doing! The draft was a blast and I got some really great players... just to name a few Peyton Manning (Tony was taken), Reggie Bush, the Cowboys Defense... and many others I can't think of right now. So now to the point of this whole blog... not only did I beat my very first contender this week, Scott's Hot Wife (Liz), but I finished with the most points in our league!!!!!!!!! GO PIGSKIN PRINCESS!!!!

Owen's First Birthday

Okay... so I know I am two months late on this post... SORRY!!!!! I can't believe my baby is ONE! It's unbelievable how quickly this first year has gone by. Owen's first birthday was June 21st and what an event it was. I think I may have gone a little overboard, but this was just in keeping with the theme, FISHING! Owen had a great birthday party surrounded by friends and family. Andy and John cooked Catfish and everything to go with it, it was delicious! For the kiddos we had swimming, a slip n slide and fishing for gold fish that the kids got to take home :) Unfortunately, NONE of the gold fish made it! I am so sorry to everyone that took a goldfish home, the good news is they are only $.24 to replace ;) I baked Owen's birthday cake that was in the shape of a fish. We got Owen his own little cake to dig into and eventually he did dig in :) It was a great day and we really enjoyed seeing everyone! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
